I picked up a great suit and pair of mens formal dress shoes at a garage sale in DC. All for like $20.00! The suit and shoes were in great condition and would have retailed new for like, $400.00. Wed, 31 May 2006 04:02:10 +0000 http://www.everybodylovesyourmoney.com/?p=261#comment-30343 [...] While we were up visiting my parents this weekend, we had the chance to run by some garage sales.  Like Everybody Loves Your Money did as well, we made an offer on a bin of clothes for our 16-month-old daughter.  We didn’t do quite as well as ELYM did (we paid $10 rather than $5) but some of the outfits were close to brand-new and one of them easily cost more than the entire bin of clothes (easily 30 pieces or more).  (We even kept the plastic bin!)  We also got a number of pairs of shoes for 50 cents a pair that still were in good condition — she’ll grow out of them well before they wear out. I even got better at knowing who had the kids one year older than my own. Then, I would watch for their neighborhood garage sales and know which house to go to find the sizes I would need!
