Heh! Yeah, it was a little difficult at first. I have an addictive personality and really loved the routine of stopping at Starbucks each morning. Now I just have a different routine. (Go get a cup of hot water and dangle the teabag in it for awhile). Giving up caffeine wasn’t nearly as hard as giving up alcohol. I’d be drinking a 6 pack right now if it didn’t give me any health problems. Oh well.

How do you wake up? Maybe it’s the fact that there are so many people who are addicted to this (like me). It’s hard for me to work without a cup of tea or coffee and ah lets not forget some Marlboro too! Lol!

Believe me, I’m not doing it for the money, just like I didn’t quit drinking alcohol for the money. I feel a ton better after having quit both caffeine and alcohol. It’s been months and months now.

I decided to try regular tea (with caffeine) this morning and I hated it. I was jittery and felt terrible. Back to decaf tea (errr colored water) tomorrow.

Quit Coffee? What? No way! I can’t quit drinking both coffee andddd tea I can’t ever go to work without it and err, I am so addicted to it that I even drink some tea (or coffee) (depending on my mood right after I get to work. Sheeshh. But since it’s working for you and since you are saving money I think u r doing great!

I gave up caffeine a little over a year ago during the same week that I had my wisdom teeth out — I figured the percocet would kill two birds with one stone. I’ve never been a coffee drinker, but I used to drink Diet Coke like mad. All in all, it’s been a great change. I sleep much better at night, wake up feeling much more rested (and not really needing caffeine) and my wife says that I stopped snoring when I quit drinking caffeine. I still lhave it occasionally, but I try to avoid having it on consecutive days, and I never have it more than two days in a row. The big problem is finding caffeine free Diet Coke — hardly any restaurants sell it, and very few vending machines stock it. But I have a mini-fridge in my office stocked with the good stuff.

My hubby and I have given up (gulp!) Starbucks, only our daily (combined) tab came to $8. That’s right, $240 per month. Today is Day Thirteen. This was a four-year-long habit. It’s good to have our freedom back. Even if we can’t have our money back! Great blog. Thanks.

I had to quit drinking coffee because I found that it irritated my skin (eczema). I also really enjoy a morning cup of coffee. Believe me, it wans’t about the money at all. I just noticed the financial benefit after the fact……

Why did you quit drinking coffee?

I really enjoy coffee and I don’t think I would quit drinking it just to save money.
