broknow,
LOL. Yeah, I wouldn't disagree. While I know some very intelligent professors, I've also seen some hiding out with their tenure. My easiest classes in college were from tenured professors giving true or false tests that were graded on a curve. And I'm pretty sure that professor was pretty miserable at handling his money.

The article implies that college professors have hi IQs. I would argue that many would not necessarily perform that well on IQ tests. Many know a ton about 1 field, but little about anything else. After 10 years or so of this, many become the type of person that couldn't get a job in 'the real world'. Because of that, there is no incentive for them to be more highly paid.

I was a computer engineering major and graduated 4 years ago. I can tell you with a certain degree of certainty that none of my professors could do my current job. In fact, had we started the job at the same time, they would not have performed as well. They may be experts at what our jobs were 20 years ago, but not now.

A Professor is compensated with job security and stuff like research grants. If they want $$$, they have to work in industry.

"High IQ’s don’t always mean wealthy individuals."

And wealthy individuals doesn't always mean high IQs.

Have you read Emotional Intelligence? Good book, explains that our emotional aptitude is more of a factor in success than IQ.
