I'm in the "speed tier" and just recently, the speeds got upgraded from 10/1 to 15/2 (must be because FiOS service is coming into the area :). I have found a pretty reliable speed test here, for anyone that wants to try it. They have the ability to do these offers. Also make sure that you mention you received an offer for DSL and it's cheaper and ask if they have a cheaper plan. But, for my location it's the only cable company I can use. I can't believe you just nicely asked them to lower your payment and they did it!! We lost half of our HBO channels and a few other non-premium channels, and our bill went up. My wife called to complain and they gave us a better package (all movie channels)for less money.
