People who measure love by the cost of their presents will always be both lame and a storeowner's delight, no matter what day of the year it is.

Funny, I did the breakfast in bed thing for my wife - but it wasn't today. It was on Tuesday! It did lead to a lovely week, but it wasn't because it was Valentines' Day, or because I had been a jerk and needed some relationship insurance. Rather, it was just because... which might be the best reason of all.
Of course, I still did the card and gift thing today, for both my wife and my 2-year-old daughter, but I think Tuesday was even better.

Went to Wal Mart... Bought a treadmill, came home assembled it for 4 hours while cussing... Got on, ran for 10 minutes, and wheezed into a coma, before eating my valentines dinner...

I'm glad, the day is almost over.

We've been married for 26 years and go out to dinner once a week. We just switched our normal out to eat night of Wednesday to tonight. I bought the husband a funny card, a very small bar of Godiva 72% dark chocolate, and because he enjoys them so much a scented candle for his home office. I do not expect anything from him since I know I'm him Valentine :)
