Selling your old belongings is one of the quickest ways to make extra money. And fortunately, it’s never been easier to do it. You no longer have to lug your things to consignment shops or host yard sales. Nope, now you can sell pretty much anything online.
If you’ve recently cleaned out your closet here’s where to sell used clothes online.
Poshmark
Poshmark is an app that allows you to buy and sell clothes like you would on eBay. Popular items on Poshmark tend to be high-end brands.
You can download the app to your phone, create an account, and then start listing items. Once someone purchases one of your items you have up to seven days to ship it.
Facebook Yard Sales
Facebook remains one of my favorite ways to sell a myriad of items online. Nearly everyone on the planet checks Facebook several times per day, making it super easy for your items to be viewed.
If you’re not in a Facebook yard sale group simply type in “your county/city name + yard sale/garage sale” in the Facebook search bar and join any applicable groups. Once you’re in a group you can upload any items you want to sell.
ThredUp
ThredUp is one of my very favorite places to purchase clothes. To sell your clothes to ThredUp you can visit their site and request a bag that you can fill and then drop in the mail.
After ThredUp evaluates your items they’ll then make you an offer.
Be sure the clothes you send in are like-new as I’ve never seen ThredUp sell clothes that were less than exceptional in quality.
Another option to sell directly to the customer is through Instagram. Insta users can use the #shopmycloset hashtag to sell clothes and then take bids in the comments sections. If you have a lot of followers, chances are some of them may be interested in your gently used items. You may also consider using a bot for Instagram to help you find people who are more likely to purchase your items.
Grailed
While the majority of the sites above are tailored to women I did find one site that is specifically for men. Grailed.com is a site that works similar to eBay but exclusively for men’s secondhand clothes.
After uploading your items to Grailed buyers can make bids and you then have the ability to accept or counteroffer.
Have you ever sold your old clothes online?
